DEMONSTRATION IN PROTEST OF LATEST INDIAN BELLIGERENCY AGAINST BANGLADESH

Bangladesh Khelafat Movement today organized a demonstration in Dhaka City protesting latest Indian belligerency against Bangladesh.

At 9.30 a.m. demonstrators gathered at the South-West corner of Lalbagh Fort and marched towards Indian High Commission. Police first tried to stop the procession at Nilkhet. But after hustle were obliged to allow the demonstrators to proceed up to New Market Over Bridge from where a 3-member delegation comprising the Secretary General of Khelafat Movement Maulana Muhammad Zafar Ullah Khan, International Affairs Secretary Mr. Muhammad Anisur Rahman Jinnah and Jihad & Training Secretary Mr. Kazi Azizul Huque went to Indian High Commission by Special Police Jeep and handed over a Note Verbale to Mr. Chauhan, the representative of the Indian High Commission.

Demonstrators carried banners and chanted slogans condemning Indian Border Security Force’s incursion inside Bangladesh border and military build up along Indo-Bangladesh border. In brief meeting demonstrators were addressed among others by Secretary General Maulana Muhammad Zafar Ullah Khan, International Affairs Secretary Mr. Muhammad Anisur Rahman Jinnah, Jihad and Training Secretary Mr. Kazi Azizul Huque, Islamic Guidance Secretary Maulana Sajedur Rahman, Propagation Secretary Mr. Muhammad Azam Khan and President of Youth Khelafat Movement Maulana Mujibur Rahman Hamidi.

Maulana Muhammad Zafar Ullah Khan in his speech advised India to abstain from military adventurism against Bangladesh. He reminded Indian authorities to take lesson from the consequence of Soviet adventurism against Afghanistan.

Mr. Anisur Rahman Jinnah urged Indian Government to implement Indira-Mujib Pact and withdraw from all Bangladesh territory along the Indo-Bangladesh border.

Mr. Kazi Azizul Huque pointed out that Indian Union is already in a fragile state and is unable to contain freedom fighters in several states. He asserted that India would be dismembered if they resort to military aggression against Bangladesh.
